Problem Statement

Most new mothers experience the "baby blues" after delivery. About 1 out of every 10 of these women will develop a more severe and longer-lasting depression after delivery.

Postpartum depression affects up to 20 percent of new moms, However, not every mom is able to talk about it publicly or share it with her healthcare provider. Instead they keep suffering silently.

Solution

  • Designed and developed an Android Mobile Application, the app allows users to self-evaluate themselves anonymously.

  • Developed using Java and Kotlin.

  • No login or personal information is needed.

  • A Questionnaire with 10 questions related to users feelings on a daily basis.

  • Users are asked to choose one answer at a time.

  • Users have the freedom to open up and provide sincere answers to the questionnaire.

  • Self-evaluation can be done as much as needed

  • At the end of the ten questions evaluation, users will be able to see their score, It will sort the result according to their level | (Mild, Medium or High risk)

  • If Mild and Medium, Users are advice to keep monitoring until they reach lowest score.

  • In the event where the result is displaying High Level, User is urged to bring it to a healthcare provider’s attention.

The design and layout are built on native Android, A simple and straight forward design making the user feel as comfortable as possible to focus on their feelings and provide the right answer in order to get the most accurate result. The non existent data requirement is also part of the UX strategy to provide the user with enough confidence to open up about their real emotions.
